Speaking of random cameos, Rowan Atkinson will be acting in a new Chinese comedy film set for release next month, reprising his character as everyone’s favorite mime, Mr. Bean.
Top Funny Comedian The Movie will hit Chinese theaters on January 28th, the first day of Spring Festival. It’s a spin-off of a popular TV series starring Chinese comedians Guo Degang and Yue Yunpeng.
While initially it may not sound like a movie you’d want to go and see, just check the movie poster and among the Chinese comedic actors with rooster’s combs on their heads, you’ll spot none other than Mr. Bean himself:
And here he is again with a bear:
Atkinson’s bumbling character is beloved by those in China. He paid his first visit to China back in 2014, shaking his thang with old people at the Shanghai Expo Center.
However, much like Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s promised appearances in a new Russian-Chinese fantasy flick, it’s not clear how much screen time Atkinson will receive. Still, Mr. Bean is nothing if not versatile.
