Mozart! The Musical @ Shanghai Culture Square
As a tribute to the 260th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, this musical chronicles the struggles and success in Mozart’s life. The APA praises the play by explaining that “Oedo Kuipers scintillates as Mozart.” Having been preformed all around the world and to over 1.9 million people, this Austrian play finally comes to Shanghai.

Salina: The Last Vertebra @ Huangpu Theatre
Salina: The Last Vertebra, showing at Huangpu Theatre, transports the audience back to ancient Africa to tell a timeless story about hate and forgiveness. This play has roots in African- Brazilian traditions, but has also taken elements from Greek tragedy and African epics. This performance is the culmination of “several African cultures and different points of view and exchanges that took place during the project execution.”

Kristin Ng-Yang exhibit @ Noeli Exhibition
Catch the last day of Chinese artist Kristin Ng-Yang’s latest works. Watercolor, videos, photography, drawings and oil paintings – inspired from a Chinese song in which a bird falls in love with a fish. The suspended fish/ birds painted on plexiglass alluding to the ephemeral encounter and the impossibility in life.

Kilocon Takeover by High Love @ Dada
Dada is hosting Kilocon, a record label that shys away from mainstream music. They’re collaborating with DJ Aron Lotfi. It will be a night of music with RnB and classic house music.

‘Envision 2116’ Kicks Off @ Shanghai Project
Following phase 1 commencement in September, Shanghai Project has become a platform where new dialogues have been instigated by inviting practitioners from a variety of disciplines, including not only liberal arts and social science, but art, science, technology, medicine and ecology, among others. Shanghai Project continues to grow into a pan-Shanghai event as it forms partnerships with museums and art fairs throughout the city. Museum partners include Power Station of Art, Rockbund Art Museum and chi K11 Museum, as well as West Bund Art Fair and Photo Shanghai.

Henri Chinaski’s Short Stories Collection @ Aike Dellarco
Aike Dellarco is glad to announce Nathan Zhou’s solo show “Henri Chinaski’s Short Stories Collection”. The works in the exhibition are his most recent pieces, specifically made on-site for the gallery space. As a “novelist”, Nathan Zhou adopts the methodology of novel writing and applies to art making and graffiti improvisation. He categorizes his observation and thoughts about his own daily life into various aspects and accomplished these “short stories” in the style of stream of consciousness.

Born Beyond the Womb by Wu Tzu-ning @ Department for Culture and Education of the German Consulate General in Shanghai (AKuB)
Wu Tzu-ning’s solo project “Born Beyond the Womb” takes us on a journey through the cyber-scape and into transhumanist topics, the murky depths of genetic engineering and the digital afterlife. The show is divided into three sections: posthuman skins, posthuman memories, and posthuman implants. Using video, websites, and installations, it addresses topics such as our networked existence, genetic engineering, vertical farming, genetically modified food, and infusion based feeding systems. This exhibition is part of the larger series “Foreign Bodies: Human Identity in a Posthuman World” organized by the Department for Culture and Education of the German Consulate General in Shanghai (AKuB).
