At what we can only assume is the world’s most depressing circus, visitors are allowed to take rides on tied-down tigers.
This depressing footage allegedly comes from a circus in Yiyang city, Hunan province. It shows multiple guests lifting their kids onto the backs of a Siberian tiger for some souvenir photographs.
The pitiful tiger is secured to a metal table with its head pressed down and limbs fastened tight so that it can’t move an inch while visitors hop on for a quick ride.
“Perhaps this can keep you away from the devils and bring you wealth too,” one circus worker says.

Captive tigers don’t have it easy in China. In the past, some zoos have been accused of not feeding their tigers enough or even starving them to make tiger bone wine. Last August, a few tigers at a Beijing wildlife park took some revenge when one visitor stepped outside of her car while inside their enclosure.
