With the Chinese New Year drawing ever closer, the busiest time of the year for China’s railway system began yesterday as millions started the journey home to be reunited with their families for Spring Festival.
From January 13th to February 21st this year, an estimated 2.98 billion trips will be made nationwide. That’s 2.2% more than last year, when a mere 2.91 billion train journeys were made.
Which means that yet again, this can be classified as the largest migration in the history of mankind. Here’s a taste of things to come:
