A Rural Commercial Bank in Changsha made a slight error on Sunday, mistakenly transferring over 1.2 billion yuan into a new customer’s bank account.
Soon after arriving home from opening his new bank account, the man surnamed Liu received a call from the branch asking him to please come in and return the enormous sum of money he had been given by mistake.
Rather than swiftly making off to Acapulco, Liu complied with the bank’s request. It turned out that a new employee had mistaken Liu’s 10-digit account number (1212405360) for the transfer amount.
For returning the fortune, Liu was rewarded with a packet of cigs and a red envelope containing 200 yuan.
Don’t spend it all in one place, you hear!
