With the Spring Festival holiday now coming to a close, people across China are leaving their families and returning to their workplaces. But, one Nanjing uncle was caught trying to bring a little too much of home back with him.
On Thursday, a reporter encountered the man inside the Nanjing Lukou International Airport as he was taking a massive pile of his mom’s homemade pancakes out of his baggage. Turns out, the jianbing plus some pickled vegetables she had also packed had caused his luggage to be 15 kgs overweight.
But not to worry, he wasn’t about to leave his mom’s precious pancakes at the airport. He decided to just carry them on board the plane instead. We’re sure they fit nicely in the overhead bin.
Anyway, at least he didn’t try to eat them all at the airport. Last year, a woman wolfed down 5k of durian until her nose started to bleed after security guards stopped her from bringing the smelly fruit inside the train station. The year before that, a lady downed a $200 bottle of cognac after being stopped from taking it on a plane by airport security.
Afterward, she was told she was “too drunk” to fly.
