One boyfriend recently sent his girlfriend a red bouquet, not made of roses, but of straight cash. Who says romance is dead?
Earlier this month, the man reportedly walked into a flower shop in Changchun, Jilin province and handed over 10,000 RMB in crisp banknotes to the presumably befuddled owner. The man said that he wanted to give his girlfriend a “real gift” to start off the Year of the Rooster right.
“This is a much more practical gift than a bouquet of flowers. In a few days, those flowers would wither and die,” one web user wrote, agreeing with the man’s methods.
“This way you have to unwrap the bills one by one. It’s too much effort. It would have been better to just give her the money, and then one flower,” critiqued another netizen.
Obviously, this Romeo is not the first to think of replacing roses with RMB. Last year, one young man proposed to his girlfriend with a bouquet full of 5,000 yuan in cash. Of course, she said yes.
While money is nice and all, we still firmly believe that meat bouquets are the way to go.
