One pet owner recently learned the hard way that it’s a dog eat dog world out there.
The young woman was taking her Zuchon out for a walk last week in Ganzhou, Jiangxi province when a leashed Rottweiler rushed over to her little designer dog and chomped down on its neck, killing the poor puppy in just 10 seconds while the woman could only watch and cry in horror.
Afterward, the woman asked the Rottweiler owner to take them to the vet, but he ignored her, claiming that the incident had been her fault for not keeping her Zuchon on a leash. “Call the police! Go ahead!” the man is heard telling onlookers.
Later, the Rottweiler owner issued a statement on his Weibo account, stating that his Rottweiler had at first been tied to a tree, but the woman’s unleashed Zuchon kept coming over to bother it, even after he warned her three times.
After that, the Rottweiler owner messaged the woman the he could give her several thousand yuan. “Do you want it or not? If you don’t, then just forget about it,” he wrote.
In the end, it’s not clear how the matter was worked out, but it has ignited discussion on the Chinese internet with most believing that both dog owners should share the blame. “The small dog didn’t have a leash. The big dog didn’t have a muzzle,” writes one Weibo user.
