Recently, Shanghai was visited by four Angels wearing high-heeled shoes.
Alessandra Ambrosio, Josephine Skriver, Sui He and Ming Xi were all in town to help officially open the Chinese mainland’s first flagship Victoria’s Secret store, a historic occasion which appropriately took place on International Women’s Day.
The four models also mixed in some pleasure with their business, strutting around Shanghai to take in all the sights.
Including seeing themselves in wax:
Actually, Adriana Lima was supposed to be here as well, but she was forced to pull out of the appearance due to “a last minute conflict.”
Over the last two years, Victoria’s Secret has opened a number of beauty products and accessories stores around China, but now we have entered a whole new phase in China’s road to modernization marked by Victoria’s Secret outlets that also sell their signature lingerie.
Next, the Angels will fly to Chengdu to open a second flagship store there, but not to worry they will return to Shanghai at the end of the year for the company’s high-profile annual fashion show. Last year’s show in Paris featured more Chinese models and designs than ever before hitting the runway as, following years of setbacks, Victoria’s Secret is trying to bust out in the Middle Kingdom in a big way.
