Looking to start a new, low-stress career where you can regularly kick back, relax and take a snooze? Well, you’re in luck! A Shanghai company is reportedly looking to recruit “professional sleepers,” offering 100,000 RMB a year to the right candidates.
According to the Beijing Morning Post, the employer is a dietary supplement manufacturer who needs people to take their products, go to sleep, and then write a report about their experiences. However, it’s a bit more complicated than that, as you will also be asked to put yourself in different sleep schedules in order to mirror the schedules of various occupations.
The only qualification for the gig is a love for sleeping.
Of course, you can find jobs sleeping all over the globe. The Beijing Morning Post talked to one career adviser who noted that the United States is an especially profitable place to be a professional sleeper with salaries as high as $300,000 as companies and researchers try to find out why one-third of Americans don’t get enough sleep.
The report speculates that soon professional sleepers could become more and more sought after in China as people begin to worry more about health. Fortunately, we know just the place to find some perfect candidates for the job.
