A 5-year-old girl from Chongqing has become a star on the Chinese internet after being dubbed as “China’s youngest dancing auntie,” truly proving that age is only a number.
Every evening at around 7:30 p.m., Jing Jing can be found on an outdoor stage leading a large group of square dancing seniors, showing her elders how to get their groove on. The little girl began learning to dance last fall; it turned out that she was a natural. In just a few months, she was one of the group’s dance leaders.
Since then, word of the little girl who is “5 going on 50” spread far and wide, attracting huge crowds to come out and watch, and maybe even try out some moves themselves. Earlier this week, images and videos of Jing Jing went viral on Chinese social media, turning her into an overnight celebrity around the country:
