A worker at a bank in Nanning literally put his own neck on the line to save a customer who had been taken hostage by a knife-wielding robber.
The tense incident played out on Friday at an Agricultural Bank of China in the Guangxi capital. Surveillance camera footage from inside the bank shows the man walking up to a teller window and putting a knife to a customer’s throat.
Soon, a brave employee walks over and proposes a swap, offering to be a hostage in place of the woman. The robber agrees and the worker takes a seat with the knife now tickling his throat.
Eventually, the bank worker stands back up and grab’s the robber’s knife while a security guard rushes him from behind. Together, they bring the man to the floor.
