A two-year-old boy miraculously survived after being run over by a car in Jinjiang, Fujian province in an all too familiar accident involving inattentive parents and cell phone addiction.
The frightening moment was caught on surveillance camera last week. The driver can be seen walking up to his car with all of his attention focused directly on his cell phone call. He gets in the car and puts it in gear, all while still chatting away on the phone.
At the same time, a toddler who had been sitting down and playing in the middle of the road gets up and wanders over to stand right in front of his car.
The driver then runs the little boy over. Once he realized what had happened, the driver ran out of the vehicle to pick up the boy. Later, the 2-year-old was rushed to the hospital and survived the accident, according to police.

A similar incident also occurred recently in Hubei province where surveillance footage shows an Audi reversing over a 1-year-old girl with both its front and back tires running over the little girl’s body. Somehow, she survived the accident without any serious injury.
But, sadly, not every toddler has been so lucky in the last week. Last Tuesday, a 3-year-old kid ran across the street in Yiwu straight in front of a turning car. The child did not survive the accident.
