For yet another year, Shanghai has reaffirmed its position as the best city in China… at least for expats.
This is the 5th time in a row that our fair city has topped an annual survey conducted by Amazing China which asks foreigners in China to vote on their favorite Chinese cities. Nearly 25,000 expats took part in this year’s ranking, which looked like this:
When asked what brought them to China, 52.7% of respondents answered that opportunities for employment was the biggest factor. Meanwhile, 55.3% said that environment and pollution was a deciding factor in choosing which city to live in.
Which helps to explain how Shanghai was awarded the top spot. Job opportunities remain plentiful, airpocalypses are rare. Plus, there’s a Kumamom cafe.
