Aaron Kwok has finally become the last of the Heavenly Kings to tie the knot, receiving an unusual blessing from his new father-in-law in the process.
The 51-year-old pop singer and actor married 29-year-old Shanghai model Moka Fang at a very hush-hush and heavily guarded ceremony at Hong Kong’s swanky Peninsula hotel on Tuesday. Reporters were barred from the event and photos discouraged, but Ming Pao reports that the banquet hall was decked out with a thousand pink roses.
According to SCMP, at the tea ceremony beforehand, the bride’s father told his new son-in-law: “Big brother, when I was a child, I grew up listening to your songs. Now I’m giving my daughter to you. I hope you treat her well.”
Kwok rose to fame in the 1990s as one of Hong Kong’s “Four Heavenly Kings” — along with Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau and Leon Lai who have all already married. For years, Kwok was one of the city’s most eligible bachelors, dating a string of starlets.
His relationship with Fang started less than two years ago. Speculation is already running wild that Fang is pregnant, though the couple has yet to respond to rumors that a Heavenly Prince/Princess is on the way.
