On Tuesday night, one romantic Chengdu college student had his grand candlight proposal all planned out — only apparently he forgot to check the weather report.
A large crowd gathered around to watch on the campus of Chengdu Normal University as a young man stood awaiting the love of his life with candles placed on the ground in front of him spelling out the words “marry me.”
Unfortunately, before his sweetheart could arrive it started raining.
And to somehow make matters worse, campus security also showed up, taking the wet Romeo away. Ouch.
Of course, this is far from the first time that this kind of thing has happened. Many netizens have actually said that the guy was lucky and may have averted disaster, voicing their hatred for the public proposals that seem to be sweeping university campuses recently.
Might we suggest instead simply asking for her hand in marriage with a big bouquet of meat?
