While some couples hire helicopters or private planes for their weddings, others like to keep things a bit more traditional.
Recently, a man from London named Edward married his Chinese bride surnamed Liao in a grand ceremony which took place inside a fancy historic Qing-era residence in a small town in Jiangxi’s scenic Wuyuan county. The traditional ceremony included sedan chairs, music in the streets and, of course, lots of red, bringing out the entire town to have a gander.
The groom’s family flew in from the UK to attend the ceremony — a good sign for the bride.
Traditional Chinese weddings involving foreigners never fail to make a splash on Chinese social media. Back in 2015, one French guy’s big fat Chinese wedding drew hundreds of guests and gawkers into the street in Shandong.
