A Tesla driver was recently caught on (high-definition drone) video in Hong Kong failing miserably at squeezing by a bus on a notoriously narrow road.
The drone footage was uploaded on Sunday by Facebook user Racky Wong and now has nearly 1 million views. Showcasing the height of futility, the video stars a Tesla Model X driver attempting to line up the vehicle to pass by a double-decker bus on the extremely narrow road (which is just five meters wide) spanning the Tai Tam Reservoir in the eastern part of Hong Kong Island.
After about 90 seconds of getting absolutely nowhere, the driver finally gets some much-needed advice from fellow motorists and at last the car slowly creeps its way past the bus. Back on the open road, the driver is then quickly cursed out by commuters stuck in the traffic hell that had been created.
Facebook users have said that in fact this scene is nothing unusual for the scenic but notoriously troublesome road, posting a photo of a taxi which previously tried to extricate itself from the mess by executing a U-turn.
Some web users have hoped that this viral video might finally inspire the local government to install a traffic light at either end of the road. It’s also yet another example that Tesla’s autonomous driving, while needed, isn’t quite perfected as of yet.
