Avast, me hearties! A group of glamorous pirates were spotted at Shanghai Disneyland earlier today for the world premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Prior to the premiere, the stars of this fifth Pirates flick swaggered down the red carpet inside Disney’s newest theme park as fans crowded around to get a glimpse or picture with Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem and others.
Check out some pics from the red carpet below:
Dead Men Tell No Tales will hit Chinese theaters on May 26th and will likely do very well. The film’s release is timed to coincide with the long Dragon Boat Festival holiday weekend.
While a Hollywood movie having its global premiere in China may be quite the rare occasion at the moment, it likely will become a far more common occurrence in the future. Recently, the latest Fast and Furious film became China’s highest-ever grossing imported movie, taking in over $380 million at the world’s second biggest box office, helping the film become another major financial success.
Back in February, Shanghai Disneyland was also the stage for the Shanghai premiere of Beauty and the Beast with Emma Watson on hand to enchant fans.
