After having his heart broken and getting drunk, one sorrowful man tried to kill himself by jumping into a river, only to find out that the water was “too shallow.”
A video shared on Chinese social media shows the man half-heartedly attempting to drown himself in the chest-high water just underneath a bridge in Shandong’s Shan county with a sign that ironically warns: “Danger! Do not enter the deep water.”
Eventually, local police arrived and dragged the man out of the river.

Of course, it’s very possible to drown in water much more shallow than this river. It’s likely that this man was more heartbroken/drunk than suicidal. In February, a Guangdong woman was also prevented from drowning herself when her fat instead made her float.
