Chinese netizens are more than a little grossed out after watching a viral video of one butcher using her meat cleaver to scrape the dead skin off the soles of her feet.
The video, recorded at a wet market in Yunnan’s Yiliang county, has given web users even more to worry about when purchasing their meat. It shows a female vendor sitting in a chair behind her stall going to town on the bottom of her foot with a knife that’s presumably also used for the pork lying on the table in front of her.
“When I watched the video, I instantly got goosebumps and couldn’t bear to look… It makes me want to vomit,” wrote one netizen worried that from now on he would have to sniff meat for foot odor before buying.
Along with foot flakes, when buying pork in China you should also be aware that it may be seasoned with steroids. It’s been known to glow in the dark from time to time as well.
