During a recent trip to a zoo outside of Dalian, an elderly woman was spotted taking a special souvenir back home with her.
In a short video clip filmed by another visitor to the Dalian Forest Zoo in Liaoning province on Tuesday, the granny is seen snatching up a handful of hair from a camel before stuffing it into her bag while other visitors try to tell her off.
Following the incident, the zoo released a statement, promising to increase security around the animals, but noting that the woman did not hurt the camel, which was molting anyway. The zoo has asked people to forgive the woman for her behavior and not to unnecessarily cast shame down upon her.
But it appears too late for that now. The video has gone viral on Chinese social media with many netizens slamming the elderly woman and her generation of aging Red Guards.

However, elderly tourists haven’t been the only ones stirring up trouble at zoos in China this year. Back in March, one middle-aged asshole was filmed chucking rocks at kangaroos in a zoo in Yangzhou. A short time later, a family of tourists at Beijing’s Badaling Wildlife Park were spotted plucking feathers off peacocks.
