A heartwarming story of sorts has hit the Chinese internet about one woman’s selfless love and devotion for her humongous, stinky, noisy pet porker
When the young woman from Shenzhen bought the adorable little pig from a pet shop back in 2010, she was promised by the shopkeeper that it would stay small forever.
However, that has not quite been the case.
Just six months after purchasing the 4 kg “mini pig” for 800 yuan, she discovered that it had in fact gained 20 kg, according to a Sina News report. But the fact that she got ripped off by the pet shop didn’t make the woman love her little “Du Du” any less and her family soon resolved to keep the piggy, no matter how big it became.
Now some eight years later, the hog weighs upwards of 150 kg and has placed a bit of a strain on the family’s finances and time. The colossal porker has a tremendous appetite for anything remotely edible and stinks to high heaven, requiring at least three baths a week.
But the real problem comes when “Du Du” goes to sleep. Since adopting the pig, the family has been forced to move five different times following neighbors’ angry complaints about the animal’s loud snoring keeping them awake at night. The last time they moved at the end of May, the family was forced to hire five people to transport their colossal piggy to their new home.
At least life is never boaring.
