One little boy has won the hearts of netizens across China for his bravery following a serious crash, urging paramedics to forget about him and attend to his father first.
The nasty accident occurred last week in Xinyu, Jiangxi province as a scooter carrying a father and son slammed into a post on the side of the road at high speed, sending them both crashing to the pavement. Footage from the aftermath of the accident shows the father lying motionless, face down on the road beside the wreckage.
When an ambulance arrives, passersby can be heard urging medics to first take care of the boy, seen propped up against the curb with blood covering his face. However, the 6-year-old instead begged the doctors to “save my dad first.”
Fortunately, both father and son escaped from the crash with only minor injuries.
Inside a hospital room after the accident, the brave little boy told local reporters that he thought his father had “gone to heaven” after seeing him lying on the ground like that. “I wanted him to be saved first,” the boy said. “Because I love my dad.”
Meanwhile, the father was overcome with emotion after witnessing his son’s courage in the face of calamity. “I was really touched,” he said. “I never expected that he was so much braver than me.”
