Already bored with China’s new domestically-made Shanghai-Beijing bullet trains that feature free wifi, more elbow room and a top speed of 400 km/h? Well, over the weekend China unveiled yet another new high-speed train that may not be as fast, but it does look comfier.
On July 1st, the new D311 hit the tracks between Beijing and Shanghai. While it can only run at 250 km/h, it does come equipped with some pretty sweet double-decker beds.
Unlike all other cramped sleeper trains in China, the beds on the D311 are set up parallel to the hallway, giving each rider some private space furnished with a tea table, charging sockets and reading lamp.
Will wonders never cease?
