A toddler in Hunan province died tragically last week after a prank played on her by some older kids ended with the 2-year-old girl falling from the 18th floor.
Surveillance camera footage from inside a residential high-rise in Changsha shows the little girl, nicknamed Lili, riding an elevator to the 9th floor along with two older children. Once they arrive, one of the other children, a 5-year-old boy, is seen jumping up to press the highest button on the elevator panel. The three then exit the elevator, but the boy lifts Lili up and places her back in the elevator, watching as the doors close.
Lili then rides the elevator all the way up to the 18th floor before walking out. Unfortunately, the windows on this floor had no glass or railings, leading to the 2-year-old accidentally falling to her death.

The tragic incident has ignited outrage online against the 5-year-old prankster and the kids’ parents for their lack of supervision. Meanwhile, some have also wondered what the company in charge of the high-rise was thinking, describing the 18th floor as an accident waiting to happen.
