While some brides insist on being escorted to their weddings by fleets of luxury cars or flown there by helicopter, one woman recently decided to just drive herself and her husband to the venue by bus.
As you might expect, there is a romantic explanation for this unusual form of transport. The woman, Wu Zheng, is a bus driver in the Shandong city of Qingdao who met her husband-to-be on the bus. So, for their special day, she could think of nothing better to carry them forward toward the next step in their relationship.
In fact, for Wu, the bus is less a metal box with an engine and wheels than a family member. “I wanted it to be here to witness my big day,” she told reporters, adding that she also wanted to make a statement for environmental protection and against ostentation.
However, Wu is not the first Chinese bride to go the unconventional route to her wedding. In the past, convoys of loaders, trucks and shared bikes have all been used to carry couples to get hitched.
