Want to give your taste buds a tantalising experience? Sitting at the beating heart of the Jian Ye Li community, multi Michelin-starred French chef Pierre Gagnaire‘s first culinary concept for Mainland China, Le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire is opening at the brand new luxury urban resort Capella Shanghai on July 15. Located in the heart of former French Concession, Capella Shanghai will transport you back in time with its historical shikumen buildings. The brasserie is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner to serve Gagnaire’s signature brand of French cuisine.
In keeping with Capella’s commitment to cultural heritage, Gagnaire’s first concept for Mainland China is rooted in family heritage. Gagnaire has appointed his long-time protégé and Michelin-starred chef, Romain Chapel, to serve as executive chef.
Gagnaire believes that community begins at the counter, because the bonds that create a neighborhood are born out of the simple engagements of everyday life. And when they share a good story, a laugh, and the magic of a beautifully executed dish with others, they are actually filling each moment with pleasure.
In addition to le Comptoir de Pierre Gagnaire, Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li will host the entirety of Gagnaire’s first Mainland China venture: le Bar, a 40-seater intimate bar lounge, la Boulangerie et Patisserie, a relaxed café serving homemade pastries and confectionary located within The Gallery, and The Lab, an interactive showcase for private bookings of up to eight guests where the chef and guests can enjoy a lively exchange of culinary display.
