Sick of outdated catalogs? Tired of comparing prices between suppliers? Now there’s an app to solve that. New Shanghai-based startup CloudFB is introducing a program that let’s restaurants order ingredients and other supplies through a mobile phone, with the aim of simplifying the procurement process.
Launching on Monday, September 4, the CloudFB eMarket app is targeted at Western restaurants, and will kick off with over 300 products from both Western and Chinese suppliers.
The internet “makes it possible for every kitchen to easily order quality food and beverage,” says Albert Xiang, CEO of CloudFB. “We are passionate in building a visible value for the community by exploring supply chain improvement through the analytics of the data behind these transactions.”
Co-founded by a group of food supply chain professionals, CloudFB is working with existing logistics companies to deliver orders in one go, rather than the staggered arrivals that currently happen. The app will also analyze data to ensure the supplies match a restaurant’s predicted orders, and ensure they have a constant supply.
Financial services provider EBJ Holding, who also co-founded CloudFB, will also provide financing to restaurants for inventory. CloudFB is currently working to improve its search function on the app, and will expand to include more suppliers in the future.
