A rather picturesque 3D banner has been removed from one neighborhood in Shanghai’s Songjiang district after being criticized for being a bit too heavy on the realism.
The giant banner, imprinted with the image of an ancient Chinese wall, was used as an aesthetically pleasing way to block off one road at an intersection for construction.
However, netizens quickly began to become concerned that the banner looked too realistic for its own good, worrying that drivers would plow right through it, believing that it was a road.
Responding to these complaints, the banner was removed by local authorities on Thursday, replaced by something a bit less picturesque.
