If you’re short of cash this September, this could be the game for you.
A scavenger hunt game based on pictures has begun in Shanghai. Ridrel.com post clues on their website and Instagram every day, all you must do is study the pictures, leave your screen behind and explore Shanghai while looking for a cash prize. Even better, it is completely free to take part.
Ridrel has just launched in Shanghai, Berlin and New York. Matt and Martin, the founders of the scavenger hunt thought they knew their home cities well, and were sick of spending so long behind a laptop or phone screen. Hence the creation of Ridrel, designed to get people moving and exploring new parts of their city, with money as the motivation.
RIDREL round 2 is starting tomorrow in shanghai… are you ready? #SHA2clue #herewego #ridrelison #codecard #readyornot #rgame #hiddencash #ridrel #ridrelhunter #INTERNATIONALTREASUREHUNT #ridrelberlin #ridrelwhashingtondc #ridrelshanghai #ridrelndc #ridrelber #ridrelsh #canyoufindit #treasurehunt #paperchase #picturehunt #game #gooutthere #underground #undergroundgame #knowyourcity #stopstaringatyourscreen #berlin #shanghai #washingtondc
Once you’ve checked their Instagram account for a cryptic clue, you have to leave the house and find the pictured location. If you manage to find it, there will be a code card. Take a picture of this, send it to the Instagram account via private message, and you’re a winner. Simple. You can also claim your position on the highly coveted leader board.
The game is bound to lead you to parts of Shanghai you’ve not yet explored. Quiet parks, old street corners, you may even meet other scavenger hunters along the way! Also, the value of the monetary earning increases the more followers Ridrel gain, so tell your friends.
