It appears that China has finally found something constructive to do with the millions upon millions of shared bikes crowding the country’s streets, sidewalks and vacant lots — make them into a park!
It reportedly took parts from 1,000 used and discarded shared bicycles to make this Shanghai park into a reality with the pedals becoming steps on climbing walls and the wheels used to decorate the sides of slides or as swings.
We’re not exactly sure if this is actually a long-term financially solvent solution to China’s shared bike problem, but it does seem like a better idea than throwing them in the streets or watching them rust away in colorful mass graveyards.
