A delivery man in Chengdu has lost his job after giving a customer a warm thermos of pee soup. No, not pea soup. Pee soup.
For Chinese Valentine’s Day last month, one well-meaning wife wanted to do something nice for her hard-working husband. After cooking up some red bean soup, she poured it into a thermos and handed it over to a delivery service, hoping that it would surprise her husband at the office, according to Chengdu Business Daily.
And surprise him it did, but not in a good way. When the husband opened the thermos, he was taken aback by the putrid odor of the “soup.” Quickly, he called his wife at home to see how long ago the soup had been made. She claimed that it was freshly cooked.
Afterward, the husband called up the delivery company to complain. In response, he received a return call from one delivery man who admitted that he had gulped down half of the soup and then simply replaced it with his own piss.
“I didn’t have any grievances, I just couldn’t find any water,” the delivery guy said later about his so-called “prank.”
Through WeChat, he offered to pay the husband 420 yuan for the defiled thermos, but the husband declined the offer.
Later, the company’s operations director flew from Beijing to Chengdu to personally apologize for what he called “the strangest incident in company history.” It’s not clear if the husband has accepted the company’s apology, but he has contacted the police who are now investigating.
