A pregnant woman on an electric scooter was riding down the road in Hangzhou on Tuesday when, suddenly, she went into labor.
The woman got off her scooter and stood on the roadside, not speaking, but in obvious pain. Fortunately, passersby noticed the woman in peril and rushed over to help. Photos posted online by Hangzhou Daily show a group of people crowding around to assist in the woman’s delivery with the help of a blanket.
Afterward, the good Samaritans called emergency services and an ambulance was dispatched to bring the new mom and her child to a maternity hospital for a check up. Both are reported to be in good condition.
Earlier this month, video of a Guangdong woman giving birth on the street on her way home from grocery shopping went viral online. While an ambulance arrived after the woman had given birth, she declined to hop inside, instead walking back home with a bag of groceries in one hand and her newborn child in the other.
