An unsuspecting female public transit worker standing at the edge of a Hong Kong tram platform was brutally shoved onto the tracks by a man passing behind her on Saturday morning.
CCTV security footage of the incident shows the woman walking along the platform at Yuen Long station at around 10:30am. As she stops, turns her back, and waves to someone she recognizes across the tracks, a man in a green shirt and brown slacks with a tan cap pulled low over his eyes passes behind her and pushes her off the platform, apparently unprovoked. With no time to brace herself, she falls face-first several feet to the tracks below. The man continues along the platform without slowing his pace, as a crowd of commuters gathers at the edge of the platform to check on her.
Police apprehended the man and charged him with assault occasioning bodily harm, according to the South China Morning Post. The woman was admitted to Pok Oi Hospital with injuries to her jaw.
