During a business trip to China, employees from an Australian company discovered an amazing little fan that creates 3D holograms as it spins.
A team of students at Dongnan University spent 3 years developing the device. The fan’s blades are covered with LEDs, so that as it spins it projects 3D moving graphics. The rotating black lines you can see slicing through the image in the video are due to the motion of the spinning blades not quite aligning with the shutter of the camera. The effect is even more impressive when viewed with the naked eye.
