Driving back to Hangzhou after a lunch with colleagues on Sunday, Liu Xinting saved four people from drowning following a traffic accident, thus earning himself free fish heads for life.
Liu, 42, had just finished dining on fish heads, a local delicacy, with fellow Alibaba employees in a nearby town when he witnessed an accident occur right in front of him. A blue pickup truck rammed into the back of a red car while attempting to change lanes. The impact caused the red car to lose control, swerve all the way across the road, and plunge downhill into the Thousand Island Lake (Qiandao Lake).
Without hesitation, Liu jumped out of his car, dashed down the hill, and lept into the lake, swimming over to the car which was floating about 20 meters offshore. Fortunately, the windows were open and Liu helped yank all four passengers, including one pregnant woman, out of the car to safety before it sank into the lake.

Speaking with the local Hangzhou Daily afterward, Liu said that he had no time to think, be scared, or even take his clothes and shoes off before diving into the lake.

As a reward for his bravery, a local development group which operates several fish restaurants in the area has pledged to provide Liu with unlimited free fish heads for as long as he lives. As if that was not enough, Liu has reportedly also received a thumbs up from Alibaba CEO Jack Ma himself.
