s he was driving a bus to the Hangzhou East Railway Station on Friday morning, a man surnamed Zhao suddenly began to feel quite unwell. However, concerned about his passengers missing their trains, he decided to suck it up and push on.
Zhao made it two more stops—driving about 1 kilometer—before reaching the route’s terminus at the train station.
At the station, surveillance footage shows a colleague stepping onto the bus to take over for Zhao, only to see him promptly faint to the floor. Quickly, she calls for help and Zhao is rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, he suffered only a mild heart attack and after receiving treatment, he was released the same day.
Hopefully, he gets a few days off.
On Chinese social media, most net users say that Zhao should not be applauded for placing his passengers’ time before his own life. “You can always catch another train, you don’t get another life,” writes one Weibo user.
