Recently, on the Turkish version ofWho Wants to Be a Millionaire, a young woman was stumped when asked to name the location of the Great Wall of China.
“Where is the Great Wall of China (Çin Seddi)?” reads the fourth question posed that evening to 26-year-old Su Ayhan, an economics graduate from Istanbul. Her four choices were: China, India, South Korea, and Japan.
After reading over the options, Ayhan said that she knew the answer, but would like to ask the audience first, just to make sure. However, unfortunately, the audience was less than certain about the answer with only 51 percent choosing China and one-fourth of them going with India.
Ayhan appeared taken aback by the vote and was then forced to use her second lifeline to phone a friend who fortunately knew that the Great Wall of China is, in fact, located in China.
Therefore, Ayhan was saved from an extremely embarrassing elimination, only to then be promptly knocked out by the following question about the composer of a popular Turkish song.
The English-languageHürriyet Daily News reports that Ayhan has since become a laughing stock in her country. The young woman has responded to her haters by saying, “I could use my lifelines whenever I wanted.”
