On August 11th, a woman went for a test drive inside a BMW X1 at a Guangzhou car dealership. The first thing that she ended up testing out was the vehicle’s airbags.
Surveillance footage shows the BMW smashing through the glass front doors of the car dealership’s showroom before crushing a counter and ramming into a wall while people scatter out of the way. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
Afterward, the woman admitted that instead of pressing down on the brake pedal, she had accidentally stomped on the gas.
In China, a new BMW X1 costs from 286,000 yuan ($41,000) to 430,000 yuan ($62,000). It’s not clear if the woman decided to buy the vehicle after her brief test drive.
