again in Hong Kong on Monday night, but fared far worse than they did last month.en dressed in white and carrying long sticks attacked protesters
Video from the scene in North Point shows the men running across a road to take whacks at a group of protesters in black shirts. However, they evidently underestimated the size of the crowd and are quickly forced to fall back amid a hail of traffic cones and other items.

According to reporters on the scene, the men were then chased up a hill before they ducked into an apartment building.
Protesters then smashed some windows of one apartment where a man inside brandished a large cleaver and warned them not to try to come in.

It’s not clear who the attackers are or if they live in the building or in the area. North Point is considered to be a very pro-Beijing neighborhood, home to many immigrants from Fujian province. As protesters made their way through the area they were hit with things thrown from apartments above.
The attack has drawn comparisons to one last month where dozens of masked men, wearing white and armed with metal rods, stormed a metro station in the area of Yuen Long, targeting protesters making their way back from a rally.
A total of 45 people were injured in the surprise attack. So far, police have arrested 19 suspects believed to have been involved, many are said to have triad connections.
