Fortunately for one pregnant woman, she was at least riding in a high-speed train rather than a slower, messier, more crowded variety, when she realized that she was going into labor.
Attendants on the train from Xi’an to Chongqing put out a call on the intercom for any doctors. A graduate student answered the call and one of the train’s bathrooms was converted into a delivery room with the help of workers and fellow passengers.
The delivery went very smoothly and within 15 minutes the woman gave birth to a baby girl.
