hinese state media has highlighted the efforts of yet another foreigner who attempted to be clear a roadblock put up by the city’s pro-democracy protesters.
The footage from Monday, the first of now three straight days of citywide demonstrations, shows the expat dressed for work trying to remove a row of trash cans from the road along with some other debris while passersby and protesters attempt to prevent him from doing so.
“I’ve had enough of this!” the man is heard saying.
China’s CGTN refers to the man as “righteous” and ends the video with the message: “If you do love Hong Kong, don’t be silent any more.”
This guy joins a growing list of angry foreigners who have had their actions shared by China’s state media in order to cast aspersion on the Hong Kong protests.
Last week, there was another barricade-clearing expat. Before that, there was an Australian traveler at Hong Kong’s airports who told protesters to “get a job” and an American conspiracy vlogger who asked one demonstrator if he knew that Hitler was “elected through democracy.”
