The president of the United States has just accused his country’s rival superpower with “mass Worldwide killing” in what counts as just another Wednesday morning for Donald Trump.
“Some wacko in China just released a statement blaming everybody other than China for the Virus which has now killed hundreds of thousands of people,” tweeted Trump.
“Please explain to this dope that it was the ‘incompetence of China’, and nothing else, that did this mass Worldwide killing!”

It’s not clear what “wacko in China” Trump is referring to in his tweet, though, like most of his intel, he probably saw it on Fox News.
After initially praising China’s transparency and response to the coronavirus outbreak, Trump has gone all-in on blaming Beijing since the pandemic hit the US hard, claiming more than 92,000 lives.
Trump has taken to calling Covid-19 the “Chinese Virus” or the “Plague from China,” has hinted that he will try to make China pay compensation for the pandemic, and has even suggested that China mishandled the outbreak so that he will lose this year’s election.
For its part, China has countered that with his rhetoric, Trump is merely trying to shift blame away from his administration’s own “incompetent response” to the virus.
“As the pandemic is still spreading in the US and many other places in the world, the most pressing task is still pulling together to save lives and seek economic recovery,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“We urge a small number of US politicians to stop pinning the blame on others and enhance international cooperation to defeat the virus together.”
