So we won't front - we were perhaps not the biggest fans of the Transformers 2 movie, despite how well it did in China. And while we'd normally use any opportunity to rag on that ridiculous, over-the-top, cliche-slinging, vomit-inducing pile of crap pretending to be a sci-fi action film, this time we're mentioning it to help segue into a Chinese movie that looks like it'd be much more satisfying on the robot front.

Mix Hindi hip hop, Chinese visuals and Bollywood-style dancing and the result is this music video from the soundtrack of the new made-in-China Bollywood film Chandni Chowk to China. For a new trailer of the movie, see below the fold. Shanghai scenes appear between 1:50 and 2:06

None of the recent wuxia martial art epics can seem to avoid the the endemic schlockiness of the genre, so as a viewer we are just content to find one that isn't altogether too offensive in this regard. We think that Three Kingdoms manages to do that. There's some good action, though nothing you haven't seen before — the hail of spears and arrows, the beheaded enemies, the evil vixen (Maggie Q) playing pipa while men are being slaughtered, and of course, the de rigeur moral message about the evils of war and humanity's inability to end violence with violence.

Wong Kar-wai is celebrating the opening of his shit movie My Blueberry Nights in the US this Friday by selling some merchandise — most notably, $95 t-shirts, $50 posters, and $25 postcards. And if you want to thank him for ripping you off in person, you'll get your chance in New York at a fashion boutique store called Opening Ceremony, where Wong is going to be on Wednesday afternoon. We hope that someone tells him that the US is facing a recession and that the real incomes are not increasing for the average American. $25 for a postcard? You can get four lattes in Manhattan for that price! Sheesh!
