porkbun%201.jpgIf "burger" can be defined in the simplest terms as meat crammed in a bun, then we think Macau-Portugese restaurant chain Lisboa can throw their hat in the ring for next year's Shanghaiist Burger Grill-off. Their pork bun (pictured) is one of the many affordable delights that keep us heading back to Lisboa when in need of some Asian-style comfort food.

Because Shanghaiist knows you're all fans, we're sure readers aged 12-16 are excited to hear that Avril Lavigne will be playing Shanghai on August 15! Avril will be perform one night at the prestigious Shanghai Qi Zhong Tennis Center (where the NBA play-off between Cleveland and Orlando will be held in October). RMB 200 tickets already seem to be sold out, but for those of you who aren't part of the "penny-pinching-white-male-with-a-yellow-heart-pseudo intelligentsia" crowd, tickets are still available at RMB 400, 800, 1200, and 2000 from this site.

Because Shanghaiist is too poor to afford satellite TV, he's often had to entertain himself with China's favourite (and only) English-language channel, especially when he's suffering from insomnia. Today's news coverage includes a story of what is touted as "Asia's first Dark Restaurant" which has just opened in Beijing (we briefly told you about this on Jan. 5).
