A seven-year-old girl from a village in Yunfu (云浮市), a city west of Guangzhou, is currently hospitalized after her father abused her by pouring boiling water on the girl's body. Reports state that the girl, named Lin Qiurong (林秋蓉), was dropped off at her grandparents' door with her clothes stuck to her flesh on Saturday afternoon. Doctors at a local Red Cross Hospital stated that 85 percent of Qiurong's body was covered with second and third-degree burns.

Pudong parents viciously string up and beat 12-year-old son in public
Now, that'll learn the little larcenist. In Pudong around 11:30am on Sunday, a couple from Anhui province tied up their 12-year-old son from a metal frame used for hanging clothes and used a whip to demonstrate traditional child-rearing techniques. The boy was being punished for stealing 300RMB from his parents, who work as electronic waste recyclers, to play video games. Considering that some will sell their kids to get their gaming fix, a little pocketing of your parents' rent money seems harmless in comparison.
Photos: The life of a child gymnast in China
Following the Chinese Olympic gymnastic team's age scandal back in 2008, many reports have come out revealing the brutal lives of the child gymnast in China. These children live and breathe gymnastics, most of them boarding permanently at their training schools at the behest of their parents, who are spurred by dreams of national glory. I'm all for athletic pursuit for home and country, but most of these kids go into intense training before they turn six. Is this child abuse? Take a look, and let us know what you think.

Teacher uses syringes to discipline five-year-olds
We've had some ill-tempered teachers in the past but nothing as bad as this. A 24-year-old kindergarten schoolmarm, frustrated by her wards, took a page from recent spiky activities in Xinjiang and began stabbing them with syringes as a form of discipline. She was taken into custody after parents, justifiably angry about the abuse, complained to police. One mother said her four-year-old daughter had been stabbed multiple times. The school (an unlicensed one in Jianshui) said it knew nothing about the incident and that the teacher's performance had been "good."

A hard knock life for Chinese kids
The majority of Chinese parents are well-versed to the phrase "when in doubt, beat it out", choosing to physically discipline their children, and the poor little tykes are also not getting enough sleep.
