A few weeks ago, we introduced a coffee service that delivers Yunnan coffee to your door. Now, Shanghai coffee lovers can get their beans from Vietnam sent to them as well, courtesy of HaoHaoCoffee. We asked founder Matthew Newhook a handful of questions about Vietnamese coffee and his service, and he was kind enough to respond:
Vietnamese coffee close to home
Photo of the Day: Ramadan in China
Muslims all around China are currently observing Ramadan, which ends on 12th of October. Here in this picture, believers are awaiting the start of prayers at Jinan's Northern Mosque which is built in traditional Chinese architectural style. The exact number of Muslims in China is unknown, though it is estimated to range between 20 and 100million. Chinese Muslims are generally from the Hui, Uyghur, Kazakh, Dongxiang, Kirghiz, Salar, Tajik, Bonan and Tatar ethnic groups (in descending order of size).
Fresh coffee: From Yunnan to your door
One of the great things about living in China is the relatively low cost of courier services which means you can get just about anything delivered at next to nothing at all. China Herald informs us that now, you can even get fresh Yunnan coffee delivered to your house, for FREE (if you live within the French Concession and the Jing'an area, that is, or if you order over 100RMB). Otherwise, you pay just RMB10 if you live in Puxi and RMB15 if you're in Pudong. Very reasonable!
Central Kitchen Project makes lazy people happy
While in America a non-delivery Chinese restaurant is an oxymoron, in China the most famous restaurants choose not to serve the lazy. However, everything is about to change!
