Beijing Airport's Terminal 3, which opened to great fanfare as a national Olympics-related showpiece project in February of 2008, had its roof slightly torn open on Tuesday night, contributing to 200 delayed flights and 28 canceled flights.

Watch: Demolition FAIL in Anhui province
Local authorities in Chaohu, Anhui assured nearby residents that the planned demolition of a gate near their homes and businesses would be a professional and measured process. Villagers living as close as 20 meters from the gate worried aloud that their windows would be damaged, but were assured the process would be safe, and that they could in fact watch it from their homes! When the time came and the charges exploded, not only did they fail to knock down the gate, they blew out all the neighboring windows and destroyed the furniture inside. What did the official have to say? "Well, the demolition was mostly successful. Only a few defects." They eventually pulled the gate down with a truck.
Watch: The world's most inept bank robber
Start off your week with something we all enjoy watching: colossal failure. Watch this dude walk into a Tianjin bank, don a face mask, then proceed to slowly bash a hole through the bulletproof glass with a hatchet. By the time he's finished, the bank employees have fled and the cops have arrived. We like one netizen's description translated by MoT: “the coolest robber, the crappiest strategy, the most audacious mind and the most miserable ending.”
Hengyuanxiang returns with more horrendous advertising
Shanghai-based wool clothing brand, Hengyuanxiang (恒源祥) has scored yet another epic advertising fail that is destined to be a top case study in the "What Not To Do in Advertising 101" course with this Chinese New Year commercial (aired between 25-31 Jan this year) that promises to rape the eyes and ears of its audience. The company, one of the official sponsors of the Beijing Olympics, unleashed a torrent of (well-deserved) criticism from netizens with its Year of the Goat television commercial last year, igniting a public furore so huge the ad was eventually pulled. Watch this commercial above and then watch last year's commercial at your own risk. You'll find that things have actually improved. We really can't wait to see what's in store for us next year.
The Olympic blue screen of death
Now that the awe from the Olympic ceremony has subsided, tech boffins have been analyzing the extravaganza with a fine tooth comb. In addition to CGI firework footprints and lip syncing children, Gizmodo has found images of the Windows blue error screen projected onto the roof of the Olympic stadium during Li Ning's torch flight. Whoops!
