Yikes! Just when we thought we were past the hateful racism directed towards Lou Jing, another blatantly insensitive forum thread popped up on KDS. This time, a netizen caught a few pictures of a Black-Chinese couple on the metro, and posted them to the forum site for general amusement and jeering. ChinaSMACK has a translation of some of the posts, which range from mockable to just plain offensive.

Since the Journal’s article on Hilbert Aug. 24, he’d been forced to cancel his planned “beer, barbeque, and blues” party - which he billed as a good-will gesture to local officials - because police were afraid it would turn into a mass protest. Hilbert received several inquiries from Chinese reporters about his predicament since the Journal article ran, and articles were published, but he continued to be frustrated in his efforts to seek more compensation from local courts and other government offices."
• China's newest lead poisoning investigation underway in Kunming [Go Kunming] "More than 200 children in Kunming's Dongchuan district have been found to have unsafe levels of lead in their blood, the third major case of child lead poisoning in China this month. During routine blood testing in Dongchuan's Tongdu county, more than 200 out of 1,000 children tested were found to have blood lead levels of more than 100 micrograms per liter."
